The Alien on steroids comes to Mortal Kombat X in 2016

News

It’s been nearly six months since footage of the Predator character in Mortal Kombat X leaked on YouTube, but now we have our first solid look at its superior (that’s right, come at me) sci-fi nemesis in action. Yes, the Xenomorph from the Alien films is included in the upcoming “Kombat Pack 2” expansion to Mortal Kombat X and it looks, well, different…

(Skip to around 1:07 for the Xenomorph’s début, but you should definitely watch the other new characters too)

They’re clearly going for a more “Pred-Alien” kind of look from the old Aliens Vs. Predator games, with those wrist blades and whatnot. One would assume these are different costume options for the character, but I just watched Alien again last night and that has got to be the least Alien looking Alien I’ve ever seen.

It has all the attributes of a steroid abuser: huge muscles, a woefully under proportioned head and insanely intense aggression. The real Alien is the perfect organism; sleek, fast and ruthlessly efficient. But when it comes down to it, it really just wants a hug.

The Kombat Pack 2 also contains Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘s Leatherface, a robot named Triborg and features the return of Mortal Kombat character Bo’ Rai Cho. If the trailer is anything to go by, the latter’s superpower is farting. So there’s that.

The pack is slated for release in “early 2016”.
