I can remember clearly when news hit the playground back in the late 90s that a mysterious Pokémon could be found in Red and Blue. This holy grail of confusion could only be found under special circumstances, and the end result was more frightening than it was enjoyable. I am of course talking about Missingo, which you probably already knew unless you somehow completely avoided reading the title before jumping into this article.
Much like in the originals, the eShop versions of Pokémon Red and Blue on 3DS still contain this abomination of nature. To find Missingo you need to talk to the old man who teaches you to catch Pokémon in northern Viridian city. Once you’ve listened to him, fly straight to Cinnabar island and surf the east coast without actually entering the water, so essentially you’ll be grinding the coast with surf.
After a few laps you should encounter a Missingo, which you will notice because it looks like a digital aneurysm. The benefits of encountering Missingo is that it can surpass level 100 and has the highest attack stats in the game. But you’re not hunting it for sport, nope, what you want to do is to mass produce the sixth item in your inventory through a glitch. When you encounter Missingo, and once again when you’ve caught it, your sixth item will be increased to 128. So yes, you can mass produce Master Balls.
Be warned, according the Nintendo this glitch can corrupt the data on your game, not that you’ll listen anyway… you filthy cheater.
