Games to look forward to at E3

Feature

– Kyle Tander

It’s almost that time of the year again as the world’s biggest gaming convention, E3, is just around the corner from June 14-16. The excitement meters are beginning to climb as some highly anticipated video games are going to be shown to the public. There are some titles that are bound to get the blood pumping and pulses racing, so why don’t we go on and name a few games to look forward to at E3 this year.

A new Star Wars IP

Probably not this.

Probably not this.

The only thing we know for sure about this is that Visceral is making the game. Rumours are suggestingthat it is set in an open world, but you should probably take those rumours with a grain of salt, as they are basically just… rumours.

Fingers crossed it could end up resembling something along the lines of cancelled project Star Wars 1313. So hopefully we see a teaser of the game during the EA press conference.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

Kylo Shepard?

Kylo Shepard?

Now I can’t be the only one who was disappointed when Mass Effect: Andromeda was delayed until next year, although maybe it will end up being a blessing in disguise. As we haven’t seen any gameplay footage or any new trailers since its reveal last year there is a high chance that we will finally see some actual gameplay during the EA press conference. So all Mass Effect fans get ready to be amazed once again.

Gears of War 4

So we can expect this to be a stealth shooter… right?

This upcoming installment of Gears of War will feature a new story and new characters. This time we will be following the footsteps Marcus Fenix’s son, JD. This approach looks like it will breathe some fresh air into the franchise, and go back to basics of the original game. Fear, tension, close, demanding combat, a two player co-op limit, and add in an element where a single type of enemy is enough to scare you. Yeah, this is one to take a good look at during the Microsoft conference.

Cyberpunk 2077

All this waiting will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.

Is there anything CD Projekt Red cannot do, as The Witcher 3 was easily one of the best games of the last decade. So is it wrong to think that Cyberpunk 2077 will steal show? No it isn’t, because it will… if it’s shown that is.

The game hasn’t been seen or heard from since its small teaser almost three years ago. Since development on The Witcher 3 and the DLC is done, hopefully we are able to finally see some gameplay or another trailer for this neo sci-fi, Blade Runner style game… oh, and maybe a release window would be nice too.

The Last of Us 2

We could be sticking our necks out on this one.

So uh, Naughty Dog. We know you have just finished making another great game, but we are just wondering if you are working on another great game. We’re not trying to be pushy or anything, but we are really hoping you say something about it. Maybe even give us trailer showing our two favourite characters, and show what has happened after the events of the original, or maybe what has happened after a couple of years. Too optimistic?

So these are just a few video games from a list of many to be on the lookout for during E3. Hopefully we get some big reveals and even some bigger shock announcements, which is basically the norm E3.
