Nintendo NX won’t be digital-only says GameStop CEO

Following the discovery of a Nintendo patent for a disc drive-less console last year, and a survey in this past January, rumours were flying that the company’s upcoming NX console would be going digital-only. Well, not according to US retailer GameStop’s CEO, speaking in an investor earnings call at the end of May. During the call, transcribed by Yahoo and reported by GamingBolt, GameS...[Read More]

Fallout 4 now requires linking Bethesda and Steam accounts to upload mods

Bethesda have updated the mod Creation Kit for Fallout 4 to require users to link their Bethesda account with their Steam account before uploading any mods. According to a post on Bethesda’s community forums, linking the accounts is simply done automatically by starting up Fallout 4, selecting “Mods” and logging in. This change presumably comes as a response to recent situations ...[Read More]

Stop mass shootings with Thoughts & Prayers: The Game

The epidemic of mass shootings in the United States will never be something that makes sense. The Orlando tragedy is inconceivable in almost every sense of the word, not because of the hate that caused it, that sadly enough I can understand, but because somebody could legally get their hands on a weapon that allowed them to kill 49 innocent people and injure a further 53. The people that died had ...[Read More]

How Project Scorpio needs to work if it’s to succeed

Brace yourselves everybody, the battle of the point-five consoles has officially begun. Just prior to E3, Playstation’s Andrew House confirmed there is indeed a Playstation 4.5/Neo in the works but stopped short of confirming any concrete details. And during his E3 presentation, Xbox head Phil Spencer announced two new Xbox models, the first being the Xbox One S, a slimline version of the co...[Read More]

What you need to know about Demonheart

“If you never trust anyone, how can you tell friends from traitors?” Demonheart is an upcoming indie game I’ve been pretty eager to write about for a while now. Having recently begun its crowd funding on Indiegogo, Demonheart offers a unique spin on the traditional visual novel experience with beautiful character and location designs, and a unique, haunting soundtrack. It promises deceit, in...[Read More]

Watch us play the Resident Evil VII demo

During Playstation’s E3 conference on Tuesday, Capcom announced Resident Evil VII is coming on January 24, 2017. Fully compatible with Playstation VR, my fellow editor Charlie promptly said he would “more than happily put it in [his] nope pile.” So as you can imagine, when the playable teaser for the game dropped on the Playstation store, it fell to me to be the one who records s...[Read More]

“In development” E3 trailers are the worst

While we should all be wary of getting overly excited from the flashy presentations o...[Read More]

Mass Effect Andromeda won’t be affected by previous trilogy choices – E3 2016

While reporting on Mass Effect Andromeda’s kind-of-a-trailer from the EA Play event on Monday, I pondered as to whether or not players’ decisions in Mass Effect 3 would have any impact on the upcoming game. I was hoping perhaps Andromeda would give some meaning to the choices made throughout Mass Effect 3 that turned out to barely influence the ending at all. Well, while speaking to IG...[Read More]

Why we should be wary of E3

Now the E3 hype has somewhat died down, we can all feel warm at night after seeing trailers and learning release dates. But let’s step back and take a look at E3, what exactly is it, and why is it such a hype festival. It’s easy to get caught up in the energy and spectacle of extravagant press conferences, to be blown away by dazzling graphics or game mechanics, but how many times has ...[Read More]
