Xbox has dropped some footage from Gears of War 4’s campaign featuring Marcus Fenix fighting alongside his son JD and friends. The gameplay seems to take place early in the campaign and shows off new executions, dynamic weather effects and of course the new enemies, the Swarm. Prepare to hear “SWAAAARRRRMM!!!!!” a lot throughout the campaign.
Also announced was the limited edition Gears of War 4 themed Xbox One S. It’s crimson red and includes a download code for the game, exclusive content, as well as a beefy 2TB hard drive. All for the equally beefy price of $599AU. Considering the hard drive size and the fact that Gears 4 is meant to show off the high dynamic range technology of the Xbox One S, it’s not too bad a deal if you’re a Gears fan looking for a new Xbox.
There’s a lot of official Gears of War 4 exclusive hardware for you collectors out there. The console, collector’s edition, themed standard controllers and the themed elite controller will set you back well over $1000. But on the plus side, they’re probably some of the best looking that Microsoft has ever released.
Gears of War 4 releases October 11. Early access is available on October 7 if you preorder the Gears 4 console or collector’s edition.
