Microsoft announced last week that the first refresh of the Xbox One, the 4K video enabled, smaller Xbox One S, will be hitting stores on August 2. The particular model releasing on that date will be the highest end one, sporting 2TB of hard drive space. As for the 1TB and 500GB models, at the time Microsoft said details of their release “will be shared soon.”
Both units are bundled with hard copies of Halo 5: Guardians, still the only game I’ve seen LoadScreen editor Charlie give a 10 out of 10, and a digital copy of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The 1TB bundle costs $499AUD while the 500GB will set you back $399AUD, both with free shipping.
As for availability in retail stores, EB Games is the only store listing the bundles on their website, but it isn’t listed as an exclusive so we will most likely see them pop up at other outlets soon.
Also coming to stores in October is a Gears of War 4 themed 2TB Xbox One S, announced last week along with new footage from the game itself.
