It’s kind of hard to believe that Overwatch will be turning one on the 24th of May. The online FPS has been a success over the past 12 months, with an every increasing fan base and competitive scene.
To celebrate Blizzard have put together a little video that sums up the first year, and it’s hard not to smile when reminiscing at what a year it’s been (except for that Sombra reveal garbage).
Blizzard have a few tricks up their sleeve to celebrate the anniversary, including a Game of the Year Edition releasing on the 24th, which includes:
- 10 loot boxes
- Blackwatch Reyes, Strike-Commander Morrison, Overgrown Bastion, Security Chief Pharah, and Slipstream Tracer skins
- Tracer in Heroes of the Storm
- World of Warcraft baby Winston pet
- Diablo III Mercy wings
- StarCraft II portraits and a Hearthstone card back
Blizzard will also be offering a free weekend from the 27th to 30th of May with all heroes and modes available.
That’s not all, there will be an event to bring in the big day too. We’ve reached out to Blizzard for more details on what that will include, so can hopefully provide an update to you all soon.
