Well, that was a lot like last year, but there are a few tasty morsels from PlayStation’s conference that we can share with you. Sadly they mostly have vague 2018 tentative releases, so dfon’t get too hyped. Let’s get started!
Shadow of the Colossus is getting a remake
We’ll start this list off with perhaps the strongest announce, Shadow of the Colossus is getting a PS4 remake. Of course it’s slated for a 2018 release, but still, looks good so far!
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy opens the show
The spin off adventure for Uncharted looks pretty good, and will be with us soon on August 22nd. It was a strange choice to kick off the presentation with, but considering how popular Uncharted is, I guess it makes sense.
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds DLC
The upcoming DLC for Horizon Zero Dawn looks fantastic, and the promise of a giant robot nemesis is terrifying.
Skyrim will never die, and is coming to PSVR
Skyrim has now officially been repackaged so many times it’s running on a joke, however the VR treatment for the game looks pretty cool! Here’s hoping it’s not as pricey as Fallout 4 VR.
The Inpatient looks vague, but scary
PSVR was naturally a focus of the show for a while, and this horror title looks pretty damn scary to me. I for one won’t touch it with a barge pole, but I’m sure it’s of interest to a lot of you!
Days Gone looks great
This zombie title looks like a blend of The Walking Dead and the Last of Us with hundreds of zombies rendered on screen at once. I have serious doubts the regular old PS4 will run this with a smooth frame rate, but so far it looks like a solid IP.
Detroit Become Human got a load more story info
I’ll be honest, this game looked boring as all hell to me last year, but now we’ve seen more, I’m intrigued. The trailer focused on introducing the protagonist, an android determined to fight for freedom and liberation of other robotic humanoids.
God of War 4 has a giant talking snake monster
Kratos and his child sidekick look like a mismatched team, but the story and setting of God of War 4 has us frothing. The Norse mythology and story focused approach made this stand out. Another vague 2018 release for this one.
WWII pews for COD
Call of Duty will be kicking Nazi butt on November 3. PlayStation showed off some multiplayer gameplay, and for the first time in a while we’re excited about a Call of Duty release.
Spiderman looks like Arkham… if it were only QTEs
Insomniac’s Spiderman rounded off the presentation, and despite having an ugly suit, Spidey looks like strong as fuck in it. With Arkham-like sneaking and take downs, the game has some serious appeal, however the sheer amount of quick time events was staggering. Let’s hope it’s toned down in the final release next year.
With Nintendo the only company left, we’re nearly done!
