British game developers Rare are making an MMO pirate game, which they describe as their most ambitious game by far. Sea of Thieves was announced during the Microsoft conference at E3 and its colourful design and intense sea battles quickly made it a fan favourite.
Here is the trailer if you missed it:
What do we know about Sea of Thieves? Well the official site states “plot your course and set sail for hidden riches. Navigate the perils of a fantastical world and the danger of rival crews.”
So that is pretty broad right? Well judging from the trailer it looks like there will be both land and sea gameplay, including: treasure chests, supernatural skeletons, planks to be walked, sharks and big ass cannons. Oh and boats… and eye patches… maybe?
Anyway, it seems like it ticks all the pirate boxes so far. Sea of Thieves is set for release on Xbox One and PC in 2016.
