The Walking Dead: Michonne Episode 2: NOW we’re talking

Reviewed on: PC All right, now THIS is more like it. MINOR SPOILERS for the episode, obviously. When writing about the premiere episode of the Michonne mini-series, titled “In Too Deep”, I said my major beef was that the story wasn’t particularly engaging given the fact both its main protagonists are already established to survive everything that will be thrown at them. The only ...[Read More]

Eli Roth directed a Dark Souls III trailer and it’s pretty weird

Eli Roth, known for his gruesome horror flicks such as Hostel, has directed an animated trailer for the upcoming Dark Souls III titled “The Witches”. In it, a knight traversing a dank, death filled castle comes across three witches who offer him a cup of the ominous looking potion they are brewing. As for what follows after that, I have absolutely no idea. But rest assured it is...[Read More]

Why the PS4K is incredibly troubling news

Yesterday we reported on the rumours going around that a new kind of Playstation 4, dubbed the PS4K or PS4.5, is on the way. The reports have been multiplying over the past few weeks, to the point where many outlets are saying the new console’s existence is pretty much an absolute certainty, and presenting games and media at 4K resolutions (3840×2160) will be a major feature. It ...[Read More]

GTA 6 reportedly in the works so here’s some advice for Rockstar

A little piece from Techradar has been doing the rounds this past week, a piece about Rockstar Games having considered making a Grand Theft Auto game set in Tokyo around the time they were making GTA 3 and Vice City. Apparently the team visited the city to do some location research but ultimately decided to abandon the idea, the reasoning for which IGN states is “thanks to the structu...[Read More]

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has won its case against Valve as the Australian Federal Court today ruled the company is guilty of breaching consumer law. Specifically, the ruling relates to a suit filed in August 2014 where the ACCC took issue with Valve’s lack of a refund policy for Steam, which goes against guarantees set out in Australian Consumer Law. Followin...[Read More]

A Playstation 4K might be launching this year

-James Orr According to The Know the rumoured PlayStation 4K (also known as the PlayStation 4.5) reported by Kotaku, The Wall Street Journal and Eurogamer, is not only real but will be launching this year. The PS4K will run games and other media at, you guessed it, a 4K (3840 X 2160 pixels) output, which is essentially four times larger than the current console standard of 1080p (1920 X 1080). The...[Read More]

What I want from Mass Effect: Andromeda

Over three years ago now, I was getting super pumped for the third and final installment of the Mass Effect trilogy. I’d managed to convince my mum to give me the day off school (as any self-respecting 17-year-old would’ve attempted in my position) and, after getting my hands on a shiny, glorious N7 edition Xbox 360 copy, I spent the next 16 hours dividing my time between playing and texting a fri...[Read More]

Fallout 4 Automatron review: The Silver Shroud strikes again

Some of you may be hesitant to reenter Fallout 4 for the latest Automatron DLC, I know I was. It’s like reopening an old wound that could take another 90 hours to heal, I wasn’t sure that my spare time can take a hit of  that magnitude again. Well it turns out that Automatron won’t take up too much of your time, and I’m okay with that. The DLC presents the Lone Wande...[Read More]

Well you can calm down now, as they’ve been confirmed to be a really convincing 3D printed fake. A YouTuber named Frank Sandqvist uploaded a video where he showed off his process of making the fake controller. In it he apologises “for getting peo...[Read More]

Those indie games you might have missed: Dropsy

-Simon Vallenet This week I’d like to introduce you to a very particular game that has a special place in my collection. Developed by Jay Tholen and A Jolly Corpse, Dropsy is a point’n click ‘hugventure’ (more on that later) that was kickstarted in October 2013 and launched on Steam in September 2015. Once again, forget the blockbusters doped with HD graphics and go back to the golden era of retro...[Read More]

LoadScreen play There’s Poop In My Soup

Indie games have become a bit of an enigma in recent times. Some are great and don’t make it very far, and some are terrible but make it waaaaay too far. Let’s look at the latter category with the Steam shitsation There’s Poop In My Soup. It’s a game about pooing on people… and it costs US$0.99. It’s about as fun as you would expect, and in case you want ...[Read More]

Photos of possible Nintendo NX controller surface, has little to no buttons

Some photos surfaced this morning of what is being said to be the controller for the upcoming Nintendo NX console, a system whose rumour mill has speculated it could be some kind of console/handheld hybrid and, depending on survey results, a disc-less, 4K video streaming juggernaut. It is unconfirmed at this time if these pictures are the genuine article, and they probably won’t be un...[Read More]
