From Software video teases Playstation VR project in 2017

News

While many people may associate developer From Software with the ruthlessly difficult Dark Souls franchise, along with Demon Souls and Bloodborne, they previously made a name for themselves with a variety of other classic games they made since the debut of the original Playstation. I mention this because an unlisted video from From Software’s YouTube channel was recently posted to Reddit that highlights their releases throughout the years, with games like Echo Night, the latter Tenchu sequels, Enchant Arm and, my personal favourite, Armoured Core.

But, possibly the most interesting aspect of the video is that it ends with a mention of an unannounced title to release in 2017 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC and Playstation VR.

Announced together with lightning. REAL LIGHTNING.

But that it is literally the only details given, so it’s anybody’s guess what the project could be. Dark Souls/Bloodborne creator Hidetaka Miyazaki recently said that while he’s officially done with the Souls series, he would be interested in returning to Armoured Core. I don’t know about anyone else, but the build-your-own mech warrior style gameplay of Armoured Core in a VR setting sounds like a cool idea.

Then again, in that same article Miyazaki says he is working on a new IP altogether so perhaps that could be related to this teaser.

Here’s the video for those of you wanting to get some From Software nostalgia. Note: it isn’t your speakers playing up, for some reason the video has no sound.
