3 Lessons we hope EA’s Star Wars Battlefront 2 has learned

Yesterday EA CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed during a financial earnings call that a new Star Wars Battlefront game is slated to come out in 2017. While a sequel to a game arriving within two years of the original is hardly a crazy concept, given the final DLC pack included with Battlefront’s pricey season pass is due to release in the early parts of that same year one could hardly be blamed f...[Read More]

Uncharted 4 is the best looking console game ever says Digital Foundry

If you read my review of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End yesterday, head over here if you haven’t yet, you’ll know I described the game’s visual quality as “unbelievably gorgeous”. Heck, in my review summary I called them “unreasonably good”. Well, if my word isn’t enough for you, renowned tech-xperts Digital Foundry have released their run down of ...[Read More]

This guy got DOOM running on a toy chainsaw

I really can’t help but envy people who achieve their dreams. For some that may be getting that dream job or to travel to certain parts of the world. But for George Merlocco, it was getting the 1993 legendary shooter DOOM running on a toy chainsaw. And by god did he build it, splatter it with fake gore and name it the “Painsaw”. It is the literal embodiment of cutting edge techno...[Read More]

EA announces Battlefield 1, coming October 21

EA and DICE revealed the next Battlefield game overnight, and it’s called Battlefield 1. Much like rumours earlier in the year suggested, the game is taking a leap back in history to World War I and is coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 21. Here’s the reveal trailer: Reveal trailers have been loving their famous song covers this week, haven’t they? Being set in W...[Read More]

Luna-The Shadow Dust: A click and play, puzzle exploration game

-Karolina Firman Right off the bat the first thing I noticed about Luna-The Shadow Dust was how visually interesting it is, it reminds me of Adventure Time with the soul of a Miyazaki film. That’s what I got from the (painfully) short demo version available anyway, and so far Luna looks to be a very promising game. Luna is made by independent company Lantern Studios, and is (yet another) KickStart...[Read More]

New Star Wars game on the horizon from Respawn and EA

Good news you scruffy looking nerf herders, there’s a new Star Wars game in the pipeline from Respawn (the team behind Titanfall) and EA. In a blog post from Respawn’s Stig Asmussen, the game is specified as being  “a third-person action/adventure game set in the Star Wars universe.” Here’s hoping this untitled game is a bit more successful than Battlefront, but as As...[Read More]

Call of Duty 4 Remastered before/after screenshots show how much the game has changed

Look, I’ll be honest here, I’m more excited for the remake of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare announced earlier this week than I am for the new game it will be bundled with, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.  Sure, Infinite Warfare looks pretty cool and Call of Duty in space is something I’ve wanted to see for a while (that average section in Ghosts doesn’t count), but since t...[Read More]

Here’s Dawn of War 3’s announcement trailer

The existence of Dawn of War 3 was confirmed overnight when Sega and Relic Entertainment dropped an announcement trailer online along with a listing on Steam. Check it out below: The Steam page highlights a “three-faction campaign” involving Orks, Eldar and Space Marines, with each race boasting the largest units seen in the franchise (as demonstrated in the trailer). Other features me...[Read More]

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare officially confirmed, comes with remastered Call of Duty 4

Well, we can all stop looking at “leaks” and weird poop emoji tweets because Activision and developer Infinity Ward have confirmed that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a real thing. And it has a trailer with a poorly used, terrible cover of a famous song and everything. It seems the game is taking Call of Duty into the realms of full on science fiction, with battles taking place not ...[Read More]

Pokemon Go beta gameplay leaks online but uploader wants you not to watch it

How do you go about uploading footage from the closed beta test of a game that your very access to requires you to agree not to share anything from it online? Put it up on some secret forum on the “dark net” away from authorities’ eyes? Burn it to discs and disseminate it via the post? The answer is much simpler: you kindly ask anyone who hasn’t agreed to the beta’s t...[Read More]

From Software video teases Playstation VR project in 2017

While many people may associate developer From Software with the ruthlessly difficult Dark Souls franchise, along with Demon Souls and Bloodborne, they previously made a name for themselves with a variety of other classic games they made since the debut of the original Playstation. I mention this because an unlisted video from From Software’s YouTube channel was recently posted to Reddit tha...[Read More]
