All you need to know about Watch Dogs 2

As with most games these days, it took one leaked trailer and a load of hype before we got solid promotional material from a publisher. Well, you can now sigh with relief because that Watch Dogs 2 trailer you didn’t watch, because it would be unethical to watch leaked content (wink wink), is now officially out!

So, here watch it again, but legitimately this time:

Aside from more information about the dancing donut man, I’m sure you all want to know when Watch Dogs 2 comes out, which is November 15 2016 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The follow up to Aiden Pearce’s moody baseball cap adventures will take place in San Francisco, putting players in the shoes of Marcus Holloway. Ubisoft have announced that the plot will involve ctOS 2.0, an upgraded version of the intrusive software that took hold of Chicago in the first game, as Marcus fights to take it down due to it falsely accusing him of some sort of crime that will no doubt be angsty and tech related.

Just as in the first you will be able to take control of electronic devices, including drones, cars, cranes, security robots and more. Letting players choose between stealth approaches or guns blazing combat, the game will unfold around San Francisco, Oakland and of course Silicon Valley. There will also be an online component much like in the first game, which Dominic Guay, Senior Producer at Ubisoft Montreal said will be aseamless multiplayer experience that will appeal to fans of the original Watch Dogs as well as players new to the brand..”

Considering how much shooting was in the first you’d hope he has a bullet proof laptop case.

Considering the game was only just announced you can bet your ass that we already have a load of different retail versions to tell you about. Yeah, sadly that’s the nature of the industry, but here you go nonetheless.

As stated in a press release from Ubisoft, the editions include:

  • Deluxe Edition includes the Game, an exclusive sleeve, a San Francisco Map, lithographs and the Deluxe pack of digital customization items.
  • Gold Edition includes the Game, the Deluxe pack and the Season Pass.
  • San Francisco Edition with its Collector’s box, includes the game, extra digital content: The Deluxe pack and Zodiac killer mission, the Marcus Figurine, SF-themed laptop stickers, lithographs, and a San Francisco Map. This edition is available exclusively at EB Games in Australia.
  • Hacker Edition includes the game, an exclusive Steelbook™, a set of DedSec decals and additional digital content. The Hacker Edition will be available exclusively at JB HI-FI in Australia.
  • Exclusively on the Uplay shop, fans of the franchise can pre-order Wrench Junior Robot Collector’s Pack and The return of DedSec Collector’s Case. The return of DedSec Collector’s Case contains the Gold Edition and DedSec themed memorabilia including among other collector items, the DedSec art Marcus figurine, Marcus’ scarf and cap replica and an exclusive 64 page artbook. Wrench Junior Robot Collector’s Pack includes the Gold Edition and a 20cm replica of the ingame Wrench Junior robot, controlled by an app (Iphone or Android).

And of course there is already a pre-order bonus on the horizon, as Ubisoft announced “players who pre-order any edition get an extra mission named Zodiac Killer: a copycat of the Zodiac Killer is murdering people and taunting the police with coded messages. Players have to decrypt the codes and hunt down the killer to complete the mission and get an additional exclusive outfit.” As much as I loathe pre-order incentives, hunting down a zodiac killer copycat would be pretty cool…

Car sickness simulator 2016.

So there you have it, Watch Dogs 2 is a thing. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more during E3 next week.
