First looks at Telltale Walking Dead S3 and Batman – E3 2016

News

As previously promised, more info regarding Telltale’s upcoming games has dropped at E3.

First off, a quick teaser trailer for The Walking Dead: Season Three, showing the new Telltale graphics engine in action:

Clementine is back, is all grown up and will, according to a Telltale blog post, “play a key role” throughout the season. She and her new companion named Javier, glimpsed in the teaser, will both be playable characters, although Telltale say the way that works is “one of the exciting details [they’re] not quite yet ready to reveal.”

Will the characters swap on a per episode basis? Perhaps right at the beginning of the game players may choose between Clem and Javier as their protagonist, encouraging re-playability. We shall see.

In other news: BATMAN.

Batman 1

Submitted without comment about all the AWESOME. Wait…

No teaser trailer on the Telltale’s Batman front, but the developers have released four screenshots (also taken in the new engine) as well as the cast list.

Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Uncharted 4, Bioshock Infinite) is donning the vocal cowl as Batman/Bruce Wayne, along with Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

Telltale also announced that much like their Minecraft series, Batman will be shipping to retail stores in a “season pass disc” version, where the first episode is on a disc and includes a code to download the remaining episodes as they become available.
