The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild revealed – E3 2016

After Nintendo confirmed the NX wasn’t going to feature at E3, all eyes were on the new Zelda game to bring the goods. Set to launch in 2017 for both the Wii U and the NX, this game has been teased to players for a long time and any kind of information regarding it is long overdue.

Well the game was finally revealed by Nintendo overnight, along with its full title: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Here’s hoping the wild flosses.

For a quick taste of the game, here’s the trailer that opened Nintendo’s presentation, featuring a tonne of footage of the gameplay mechanics.

For a more in depth look, Nintendo played some of the game in the presence of producer Eiji Aonuma. Aonuma speaks of how he wanted to “rethink the conventions of Zelda” when developing Breath of the Wild, which explains some of the new mechanics.

The open world game has a slight survival bent, requiring Link to cook and consume food to regain health, make elixirs to gain buffs, him having the ability to traverse the world better by jumping and climbing, as well as deeper item statistics such as a new defense trait.
