After many years of silence and a slow drip feed of information in the past few months, developer Bioware have confirmed Mass Effect: Andromeda will be launching on March 21 2017 in North America and March 23 in Australia/Europe.
Bioware general manager Aaryn Flynn made the announcement this morning in a blog post where he thanked players for their patience, and surprisingly “even [their] lack of patience in some instances,” as they completed the game. That has to be the first time I’ve heard something like that from a developer. Flynn said the Bioware team had been playing a near completed “holiday build” of the game over the, well, holidays and the game is ready to go.
We got our first look at Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay during the Playstation 4 Pro announcement in September, as well as a cinematic trailer on November 7 (N7 Day). Sadly it was announced during the last E3 that choices made during the Mass Effect trilogy won’t have any effect on Andromeda, which is a shame.
But even if they did, it probably still wouldn’t mean I could bring Garrus back to me…
