New Prey trailer is all about battling home appliances

This reboot of Prey is looking weirder and weirder the more I see of it, and I am certainly not complaining. At first I was disappointed that the new Prey wouldn’t be the sequel to the 2006 FPS gem I was hoping for, but seeing it presented as a creepy, existential sci-fi horror shooter quickly wiped those feelings away.

Now, this new gameplay trailer for the Arkane Studios developed, Bethesda published game is focused entirely on the “mimic” gameplay, where players can transform into objects from the environment at will. Seriously, it looks like you can be anything. You can transform into a sentry turret, and then shoot back at the original turret. You can even be an adventurous toilet roll.

Or you can be a banana, but in space.

It looks like I Am Bread decided to be an action game.

We don’t have too long to wait to experience the thrill of battling kettles and desk chairs for ourselves, Prey is launching worldwide on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 5.

All right Arkane, you had my curiosity, now you have my attention.
