Destiny 2 – Full trailer and collector’s editions revealed

The full reveal trailer for Destiny 2 dropped overnight, showing old allies, new foes, and the destruction of all your previous loot.

The limited editions of the game have also appeared on retailer sites like EB Games and JB Hifi, and have confirmed the long standing rumour that Destiny 2 is coming to PC. First we have the big Collector’s Edition which costs a staggering $349 for consoles and $339 on PC:

    › Cabal Schematic
    › Collectible Postcard Images
    › Cabal Military Pawns

It’s hard to discern what some of these items are, so expect Bungie to do a full unboxing video in the near future.

From the image of the Expansions, we can already see that they’ll focus on Osiris, creator of the ‘Trials of Osiris,’ and Rasputin, the AI in control of Earth’s superweapons. Amazon’s listing also included some juicy story tid-bits about the Frontier Bag:

“Born in the City, Hawthorne left as a teen to seek a life of freedom in the wilderness outside the safety of our walls. She has survived for years outside of Guardians’ protection, and has come to learn her true purpose: To provide shelter to humanity by helping them not only survive, but lead a better way of life. This is a frontier bag, as worn by Hawthorne. In it, you will find tools and a place to store the valuable equipment you uncover on your own adventures.”

The Limited edition is similar to the original Destiny’s limited edition, in that it’s just a stripped-down version of the Collector’s Edition:

This edition costs $149 on console and $139 on PC, and includes the previously mentioned steelbook case, Expansion Pass, digital content, and Cabal themed box and its contents.

The standard edition is of course selling for a RRP of $99.95 and $89.95 for consoles and PC respectively, though it’s pricing is flexible as JB Hifi is currently taking orders for $10 less.

Preoders of any edition will include early access to the Destiny 2 beta, though Bungie stressed on their website that the beta will eventually be opened to the public. EB Games also has an exclusive preorder bonus with the Cayde-6 figurine:

Finally, his head matches his ego.

All editions of Destiny 2 are scheduled for launch on Friday, September 8, 2017. A new gameplay trailer will be released on May 8. Manage your hype correctly, lest you get burned like when Destiny first released.
