Bayonetta’s PC port releases On Steam

Get ready to let your hair out: following the April Fool’s release of 8-Bit Bayonetta, the complete, unadulterated and original Bayonetta is now available on Steam for US$20 (just under AU$28). Buying now will also net you some bonus digital content for free.

Whilst the PC port doesn’t seem to offer anything in the way of new content, it looks like it will be the definitive version of the game, supporting 4K resolution and 60 FPS gameplay. Unfortunately, the framerate is locked to maintain a consistent experience, with cutscenes locked to 30 FPS, so higher spec PCs won’t see much difference in that regard.

As it’s a game from 2009, the system requirements are quite forgiving.

    • OS: Microsoft Windows 7 / 8 (8.1)/ 10
    • Processor: Core i3 3220
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Radeon HD6950 / GeForce GTX 570 (VRAM 768MB)
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Storage: 20 GB available space

    • OS: Windows 7 / 8 (8.1)/ 10
    • Processor: Core i5 4460
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Radeon HD7870 / Geforce GTX 760 or more (VRAM 2GB or more)
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Storage: 20 GB available space

Just don’t expect the PC port to be very ‘PC’.

Unlike Platinum’s last PC port with Nier: Automata, Bayonetta appears to run very well. PC Gamer tested Bayonetta on a Core i5 CPU with a GTX 970 graphics card with the game maintaining a complete 60 FPS with 1080p on high settings.

It’s unlikely we’ll get a PC port of Bayonetta 2, as that was funded by Nintendo, but maybe this is a hint towards a Bayonetta 3 reveal at E3?

Which demon do I have to summon to make that happen?
