Blizzard tease a new Overwatch hero, and it looks like he’s a gorilla

Overwatch fans will be familiar with vague character reveals by now. Sombra was painfully revealed through an augmented reality game (ARG), something which Blizzard learned from with the rather speedy announcement of Orisa. Well, it looks like another hero is on the horizon (high-five to those who get the terrible joke) , and one that could be closely related to Winston. On the Overwatch blog a se...[Read More]

Skin fiends assemble – Overwatch’s first anniversary event is live

I know, I know, it’s hard to grasp that Overwatch is now a year old, but forget all that, because we all know what we truly care about… skins. To celebrate the anniversary Overwatch will be having another timed event with some great new loot, so yay, goodbye every lick of spare time between May 23rd and June 12th. The skins this time round are some of the best we’ve seen in an ev...[Read More]

Red Dead Redemption 2 may be delayed, but here are some tasty screenshots

The news this morning that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be delayed was upsetting for a number of reasons, but let’s be honest, it wasn’t all that surprising.  The western sandbox will now be released in “spring 2018” instead of “fall 2017.” Well, at least the blow has been softened with the release of these zesty screenshots, which show off the amazing textures a...[Read More]

Ahead of a worldwide reveal later this week, Ubisoft has released some teaser videos for Far Cry 5 which confirm the game will be set in Montana. Specifically, it will be set in the fictitious “Hope County”, a region that seems a beautiful as it is eerie as balls. Check out the videos below, all of which depict the gorgeous landscapes of Hope County, only to be ruined by the occasional...[Read More]

What Outlast 2 could’ve done better

This article is riddled with spoilers, consider this your warning! Back in early April when it looked like Outlast 2 wasn’t getting an Australian release due to a bit of dodgy content that our classification board wasn’t terribly keen on, I couldn’t have been more disappointed. The first Outlast is one of my favourite horror games of all time, screaming my head off, sprinting from Chris Walker, un...[Read More]

Overwatch gears up for its first birthday

It’s kind of hard to believe that Overwatch will be turning one on the 24th of May. The online FPS has been a success over the past 12 months, with an every increasing fan base and competitive scene. To celebrate Blizzard have put together a little video that sums up the first year, and it’s hard not to smile when reminiscing at what a year it’s been (except for that Sombra revea...[Read More]

Prey speedrun clocks the game in 20 minutes

Speedrunners are crazy, you guys. The act of seeing how quickly one can beat a video game is taken extremely seriously by the speedrunning community. They outline rules for each run, ranging from needing to complete the game 100%, just having to reach the end of the story, or even being limited to certain weapons/items. And then there’s the “anything goes” type of speedrun, where...[Read More]

AFL Evolution’s commentary is the pits

So this past weekend I’ve been playing a fair bit of AFL Evolution, something which has been relatively painful for a number of reasons, but for now let’s take a long hard look at the commentary. Those familiar with games like Madden and FIFA might take commentary for granted. For a solid decade the voice work in sport games has been seamless, to the point it feels like you might actua...[Read More]

Death Squared is coming to the Nintendo Switch

The brutally hard Australian developed Death Squared will be making its way to Nintendo’s latest console in Q2 of 2017. Being a strong multiplayer title the game lends itself exceptionally well to the Switch, which allows for convenient multiplayer gameplay in a ran...[Read More]
