Wolfenstein II doubles down on its “controversial” Nazis-are-bad stance

Recently, the Wolfenstein Twitter account, as well as publisher Bethesda, copped some flak for posting a trailer for the upcoming Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus which called to “Make America Nazi Free Again”. There were those who arced up over the belief that the developers were politicising the game, which is set in an alternate 1960s where the Nazis won World War II and America lives under Nazi control. And because this is 2017, where “Nazis are bad” is now considered a controversial political stance for some insane reason, Bethesda vice president of marketing and PR Pete Hines had to make a statement justifying the always anti-Nazi game being anti-Nazi.

Well, today they’ve shown they’re not perturbed by the recent backlash, with the Wolfenstein Twitter account posting another, albeit short, clip of a Nazi being punched in the face.

Seriously, A+ to the Wolfenstein II marketing team.

The actual game all this surrounds is just around the corner, launching October 27 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
